Brittany Hayes – Student of the month
Hi everyone! I am Brittany, a Trainee Nail Technician with NBA. I have always loved doing nails! Whether it be my Mam’s or my friends’, it’s always been a hobby I’ve found to be relaxing. I am a very creative and expressive person so creating beautiful nails for those around me felt like a nice outlet. I only quite recently had the realisation that I need to do more of what makes me happy, and when my best-friend talked me into enrolling, I knew I had done the right thing.
I am more of a visual learner and feel like I can pick things up a lot quicker if I am seeing the process or artwork taking place in front of my eyes, real time. I was happy and looking forward to meeting new people who also shared a love and interest for all things nails related!
I personally really enjoyed the manicure and pedicure parts of the course! I liked having my clients come in to the NBA and get a taste of what it would be like to perform a relaxing therapeutic treatment in a salon environment. The paraffin wax treatment was very satisfying to learn. I felt second-hand relaxation for my models. I also thought learning about the structure of the skin was fascinating, as skincare is another big interest of mine.
My favourite thing about the NBA is that it is a very do-able way to learn your subject, I did not ever feel like I was given too much or overloaded with information, all learning was fun and manageable. I also really like that whenever you walk through the front door you are greeted with warmth and a smile.
My experience with my fantastic tutor and other students has been amazing! All the staff are so helpful, and I could not have been learning this course with a more amazing group of girls. We are all eager to share and help each other and the support given to every one of us from Kaye is exceptional.
The NBA is totally different from any college I have ever been to. It’s so accessible, especially if you already work or have a busy life! The tutors are very flexible and will try to accommodate you the best they can, still ensuring you are up to date with their teachings. The environment is friendly, and I’d recommend it to anyone who would like to learn a beauty skill.
I’d like to give a huge great big shout out to Kaye Kennedy!! The most fabulous tutor who has inspired me since day one, my passion for nails has only grown thanks to you!
